About GenFix

GenFix is a generator specialist working across Nairobi from a base at Rainbow Tower, Muthithi Road in Westlands. We do four things: repair generating sets, service them, install them, and supply the parts they need.

How we work

We diagnose before we quote parts. That sounds obvious and it is not how most generator repair happens, because the symptom of a failed automatic voltage regulator and the symptom of a failed alternator are identical: the engine runs and nothing comes out. One of those is a modest part and the other is a major component. Testing which it is costs less than getting it wrong once.

We size from the largest starting load rather than from your electricity bill. A submersible borehole pump or a workshop compressor can demand six to eight times its running current for a second or two, and that spike decides the machine. Sets chosen on monthly consumption are the ones that brown out whenever the pump calls.

We tell you when a repair is not worth doing. Below about 15kVA a complete imported set is inexpensive enough that a serious alternator repair on an old machine can cost more than replacing it. We would rather show you that arithmetic than quote the repair and let you find out afterwards.

What we are not claiming

You will not find a claim here about being the biggest, the oldest or the only. There is no customer list, no project count and no star rating on this site, because we are not going to invent any of them. What is on this site is what we know about generators in Nairobi, written out so you can judge it for yourself before you contact anybody.
